The inter-textuality and the inter-materiality of objects. The “funerary offering” in the tension between material culture and epigraphic evidence between the Early Dynastic IIIB and the Neo-Sumerian period (Lower Mesopotamia, c. 2600-2100 BCE)
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this paper, we propose to reflect on the notion of object, taking into account different theoretical contributions of archeology in relation to the topic of materiality. For this, we will analyze the concept of “funerary offering” during the third millennium BCE in Lower Mesopotamia from the contextualisation of the epigraphic record (economic-administrative and lexical texts) and the respestive link with the material culture.
