Hibridación, etnicidad e intercambio cultural en el Egipto Ptolemaico Temprano (S. IV-III a.C)

Resumen

Desde el surgimiento de la llamada Nueva Historia Cultural, a finales de la década de del ochenta, la producción historiográfica dentro del campo de los estudios culturales parece no tener fin. La multiplicidad de conceptos, algunos sin mayor diferenciación de los anteriores, o bien directamente superpuestos en contenido, produjo infinidad de crí­ticas debido en muchos casos a la dificultad de combinar las teorí­as con las fuentes disponibles, sumado además a supuestas debilidades epistemológicas. En el presente artí­culo nos proponemos realizar un relevamiento actualizado de diversos modelos de análisis culturales utilizados para el estudio de las sociedades precapitalistas. En especial, propondremos un acercamiento metodológico que combine elementos provenientes de la antropologí­a, la semiótica y la historia, a fin de ponderar cuales conceptos son más convenientes a la hora de tratar con fuentes antiguas. Asimismo, y con el fin evaluar la pertinencia de dichos enfoques para el análisis de la Historia Antigua y, especí­ficamente, helení­stica, propondremos la aplicación de algunas de las conceptualizaciones expuestas sobre casos históricos particulares de nuestra especialidad, es decir, ligados al contexto de formación del Estado egipcio ptolemaico (siglos IV-III a.C).

Agustín Ezequiel Saade, Universidad de Buenos Aires - PEFSCEA

Es auxiliar de cátedra de Historia Antigua II (Clásica) de la Universidad de Buenos Aires y becario doctoral UBA, bajo el proyecto "Las bases económico-sociales del Estado Helenístico en su etapa formativa: la construcción del poder estatal en el Egipto Ptolemaico Temprano (siglos IV a III a.C)", dirigido por el Dr. Julián Gallego. Además soy integrante del Programa de Estudios sobre las Formas de Sociedad y las Configuraciones Estatales de la Antigüedad (PEFSCEA), y me desempeño como investigador graduado en proyectos UBACyT y PICT ligados a la temática del estudio del Estado Antiguo entre el periodo Clásico y Romano.
